List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

The first book that came to mind for this prompt.

There are so many impactful books in my life and I am grateful that this prompt does not try to make me pick the books with the *most* impact because that’s impossible to do. Do you know how many books I’ve read in my life? I assume not, because I personally have no clue and that would be weird if you had a better idea than me. Rest assured it’s a lot.

Book #1: The Daring Book for Girls

This book teaches how to do so many things and talks about the history of strong women and teaches science and all the things. I’ve read this book many times, and it showed me who I wanted to be: tough, smart, capable, kind. I can wear high heels and change a tire and I think that’s awesome. Admittedly I spent more time reading about how to do things than actually doing them.

Book #2: The Mysterious Benedict Society

This was one of those books that stuck in my brain for a long time. Now I don’t remember exactly the plot, but there was this delicious feeling and it made me feel that life has a  beautiful richness and magic to it. Not magic like spell casting, magic more like amazing and weird things happen in the world we live in. Not that the book is completely realistic. It’s hard to describe the feeling.

Book #3: Go Dog Go

This was the first book I read by myself in its entirety, so I suppose that is where it all began. My dad paid me a whole dollar for reading it to him. I took that dollar and carefully placed it somewhere safe so as to keep it from our dog. Naturally our dog promptly found it and ate it. My dad, kind soul that he is, gave me another dollar. The book itself is just fun and a great choice for a beginner reader readers of all ages.

There are many more (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Deltora, Anne of Green Gables, The Scrambled States of America, Little House in the Prairie, The Tale of the Disappearing Spoon, just to name a few) but it is late and the prompt was only asking for three.
